Energy Therapy Now Available!

Balancing Chakras Starting Tuesday, September 6, 2011, Terry will be offering Energy Therapy Sessions to our clients. She has been doing this work privately for over 20 yrs.

The sessions will include the use of "Therapeutic Touch", developed by Dolores Krieger, Nurse PhD & Dora Kunz and "Chakra Balancing". The therapy sessions will also include complete assessment & analysis, clearing and further self-practicing instruction to keep you clear.

Therapeutic Touch Defined
Therapeutic Touch is a contemporary healing modality drawn from ancient practices and developed by Dora Kunz and Dolores Krieger. The practice is based on the assumptions that human beings are complex fields of energy, and that the ability to enhance healing in another is a natural potential.

Therapeutic Touch (TT) is used to balance and promote the flow of human energy. It is taught in colleges around the world and has a substantial base of formal and clinical research. This research has shown that TT is useful in reducing pain, improving wound healing, aiding relaxation, and easing the dying process. It is practiced by many nurses around the world and is the subject of 1000’s of educational dissertations.

Terry studied TT extensively with Dr. Albert Schatz, in early 1990 & 1991. He studied with Dolores Kreiger and Dora Kunz and was one of the original Kreiger’s Krazies, as they were known. You can know find research on TT on the National Institute of Health website.

Chakra Balancing
Chakras are our energy centers. They are the openings for life energy to flow into and out of our aura. Their function is to vitalize the physical body and to bring about the development of our self-consciousness. They are associated with our physical, mental and emotional interactions. There are seven major chakras.

Evaluating the Health of Your Chakras
Having your chakras evaluated by a trained practitioner is a good way to get a better understanding of how your body functions on an energetic level. An energy therapist will be able to tell you which chakras are functioning poorly and which chakras are working overtime. When one or two chakras are performing at a reduced level, the remaining chakras have to pick up the slack. Having a non-functioning chakra can effectively send imbalance throughout the system like an out of balance mobile. Not good.

Keeping Your Chakras in Proper Alignment
When your back or hip gets out of alignment you will make a trip to the chiropractor's office for a spinal adjustment. Similarly, a healer trained in manipulating the energy flow of energy can assist you in getting misaligned chakras back to functioning properly. It may take one or more appointments with a practitioner to get your energy levels up to par. Afterwards, there are a variety of healthy actions you will be taught to help keep them open, allowing your energy to flow naturally.

Limited Time Special

We are offering an intro fee for our 1 hour Energy Therapy Sessions for only $55. This offer is only available for a limited time, so call us today at 302.633.4035 to schedule your appointment.

Massage for PMS

Self-care techniques to try

If you suffer from premenstrual syndrome, massage may help. In a study at the University of Miami’s Medical School, women suffering from PMS experienced reduced anxiety, depression and pain immediately after receiving massage. After a series of massages, the women also reported a reduction in water retention.

When you have PMS symptoms, have a friend or family member press with heels of the hand down the muscles on the sides of the spine from waist to sacrum (the triangular bone at the bottom of the spine). Press through clothing, or use a little oil on bare skin. Aromatherapists recommend blending a few drops of lavender, clary sage and geranium essential oils in your massage oil to further aid in reducing pain and other symptoms.

If you are alone and want relief, try this exercise. Lie on a carpeted floor. Hug your knees to your chest and lift your head so that you form a ball. Rock back and forth for a minute or more. Then rock gently side to side. Lie back, relax and breathe deeply. As part of this routine, you can also roll your lower spinal muscles over a soft, squishy ball, leaning back into the ball as much as is comfortable for you.

Tips to bust your stress

Reflexology - Gift Certificates are always availableCommunicate, relax and get away from the routine

Stress is not necessarily a bad thing — it can be a stimulus for positive change and growth. But too much can be detrimental. Learn to recognize the effects of stress and practice techniques to deal with it in a positive way.

Let your family and friends know when you are under pressure. Ask for help when life is hectic and you feel stress mounting. Your loved ones can’t read your mind and will prefer lending you a hand to being the brunt of your ill humor.

Practice focused relaxation. Lie down with your knees up and your feet flat on the floor. Focus on your sensations. Notice where you feel discomfort and breathe into those areas. As you inhale, imagine relaxation flooding your body. With each exhale, let go of tension. Practice focused relaxation when you wake up and when you get in bed at night.

Get away from your daily routine. Take a weekend — or even an afternoon — to spend time enjoying the beauty of nature. Sign up with one of your co-workers to participate in a fund-raiser walk-a-thon for a good cause. Or enjoy the thrill of a live performance. Go out for the evening to a play, concert or comedy show.
